The Big Fight

Ladies and gentlemen, tonight's main event is schedule for three rounds. In the high chair, weighing in at 20 pounds, 9 oz, is the reigning champion Ellie, The Goobie, Rose. Her opponent, looking to win at least one round is the ever-persistent, Jessie, The Mommy.

Let's get ready to rumble!!!

Round 1:

Ellie gets off to a quick start in this bout, swatting away any of Mommy's attempts to feed her yogurt. She won't even pick up any of the pancakes laid out in front of her! Refusing to eat, Ellie is holding her ground and gives nothing but pouts of annoyance! If she keeps this up, it's going to be an easy victory for Ellie.

Bring it on, Mommy.

No food allowed.

Round 1 goes to Ellie.

Round 2:
After a strong first round, Mommy has some ground to make up if she wants to win this bout.
This round starts out a lot more even. Though Mommy can sneak in some spoonfuls of yogurt, Ellie is working her spoon and feeding herself. This round could go either way.

One from Mommy, one from Ellie.

In a sudden change of events, Ellie tosses her yogurt all over the floor and takes this round!

Round 3:
After putting up a good fight in the first two rounds, Ellie succumbs to her hunger and finally gives to the bowl of grits. Mommy wins this round!

Watch out Kobayashi, Ellie can eat some grits!

Decision:
Draw.
Although Ellie won the first two rounds, Mommy easily won the final round. This one will go down as a draw. Look for a rematch real soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gobble Gobble. It's turkey-time! I got to experience Thanksgiving for the first time and I had a blast! Mommy, Daddy, Leroy, Lucy and I all packed up in the car and drove down to Nanny's for the holiday. We arrived Wednesday to get settled and I woke up early on Thursday in anticipation of the big day. I spent the majority of the day playing with Mommy, Daddy, and Nanny until Uncle Bob arrived in the afternoon.

Mommy and I hanging out before our guests arrive.

Nanny's piano is a blast!

Mommy and I playing on the floor.

Who needs toys when you can get into Nanny's things?!

I woke up from my afternoon nap just in time of the main event. Daddy and Uncle Bob pulled out the turkey and then it was time to eat! I sat at the big table and showed everyone how well I eat (heehee). My Thanksgiving meal consisted of a half of banana (which I threw on the floor), sweet potatoes (which I swatted away), pancakes, and a piece of turkey (which I ignored completely). I was more interested in being the center of attention rather than eating but what else is new?!

I don't like coffee, it makes me jittery!

After dinner, I got a bath and a change of clothing and got to play on the floor. It all went by so fast but I enjoyed every minute of it!

9 Month update

Ellie: Master Blogger

I know that I've been neglecting my blogging obligations and disappointing my avid readers. This post should hopefully make up for all of that lost time! As you know, I am now 9 months old and well on my way to 1 year! Everything was fine at my 9 month checkup (except for having to get the two flu shots!) and I'm keeping up my impressive growth pace. I weighed in at 20 lbs 9 oz (75th percentile), 28 inches long (80th percentile) and I still have a ginormous noggin (97th percentile).

Over the past few months, I've learned to do so much and though I'm sure I'll forget to mention everything, here are a few of the highlights:

1. I've mastered the art of crawling. Long gone are the days of flopping all around the floor. I can now move from one end of the room to the other in a flash!

2. I'm almost walking! I can walk around with a push toy and I am so close to taking my first step. Any day now!

3. I'm a dancing fool! When the music starts playing, I start grooving! Watch me shake it (like a polaroid picture, Daddy says)!

4. I love to play! Here are some clips of Ellie being Ellie. Enjoy!

Now it's time for the photo montage!

That's all folks!

Trick or Treat!

Happy Halloween!

Though I was too young to go out trick-or-treating, I still got to dress up in my Halloween outfit. As everyone knows, I am the most graceful of babies so it was only fitting that I dressed up as a ballerina! I wasn't a big fan of the tutu so it only stayed on long enough for the photo shoot. My friends Steve and Amy came by for dinner and all of the trick-or-treating activity. My bedtime is still pretty early so I missed much of the fun but next year I'll be sure to be out there getting some candy. Time to start planning next year's outfit!

Daddy and me!

Yeah for Halloween!
