Back by popular demand

Mommy's little angel.

Hello everyone! I’ve been letting my blogging duties slide but its because I’m doing so well!!! It’s been over two weeks since I last posted but I will try to recap everything that’s going on now. As you’ve probably already heard, I went through a pretty rough patch where I was vying for the renowned Fussiest Baby of the Year Award. I was having trouble eating, sleeping, and digesting, not too mention I was growing fast. All this resulted in one cranky baby!

Luckily for everyone in the house, I’m getting past the 5-6 week baby blues and I’m well on my way to being a healthy, happy little girl. I’m eating well and often. The reflux is down and I’m putting on some weight. Mommy even says that I have thigh rolls now!

The milk is up...and it's good!

Halftime burping.

Game over.

I’ve had plenty of more visitors over the past couple of weeks. I’m so lucky!

Nanny, why aren’t you looking at me?!

Kelly and Brian pushed their car to the limits just to see me!

Soon I’ll be standing up like my friend Lydia!

I even took my first trip outside of the ‘ville and went to Nanny’s with Mommy and Daddy. There I got to meet Nana (Nanny’s Mommy) and I was such a good girl for her.

Just when we thought that my hair was going to begin to fill in on the front, all that hair fell out leaving me long hair on the back half of the top and the back. It makes for one great baby mullet!

My hair does this all on its own. There’s no controlling it!

It must be really windy in the kitchen!

Daddy loves my big blue eyes!

I've taken a lot more photos and have put all of my Month #2 photos in the slideshow to the left. Just click on it to see all of my photos! If you want to see the pictures from my first month, you can click here: Month 1. Here are a few new photos for you to enjoy.

I love my car seat. That’s where I get the best sleep.

Mommy knows how to get me to smile!

Everybody was kung fu fighting. Heeaahh!

A baby can only take so much.

It's been a while

Hello, everyone! It's been a while since last updated my blog. Unfortunately, I've been battling a bad chest cold that just won't go away. I've had it for over a week and it's just now starting to clear up a little. I've been sniffling, sneezing, and coughing all day. It's tough being a sick baby! The good news is that as of last Monday (at 3 weeks old), I was just about back to my birth weight!

What you talkin' 'bout Willis?! I'm sick!

Mommy is the best at keeping my nose clear.

Gollum! Gollum!

Avo, Vava, and Nanny have all gone back home so now it's just me, Mommy, Daddy, and the two crazy dogs. I'll miss them but I'm in good in good hands. Once I'm feeling better, I'll start to have visitors come see on the weekends. I can't wait to meet my big cousin, Michael!

Hanging out with Vava and Avo.

I love my Mommy!

Honestly, I look nothing like this.

Look at me in my pretty dress.

Nap time!

While I distract the adults, Leroy helps himself! Now that's teamwork!

Day 19. It's all about me!

Hello everybody! Can you believe that I'm now almost three weeks old?! I'm getting bigger and bigger and everyone is doing their best to ensure that I am eating and sleeping enough. Some days are better than others but I think that I'm starting to get a hold of this whole eating every 2-3 hours and napping throughout the day and night. Last Monday I weighed 8 lbs, 12 oz and I'm scheduled to go in to the doctors on Monday for another weighing. Hopefully I will have gained at least 4 oz and Daddy is pushing me to gain 6 oz so that I'll be back to my birth weight! One sign that I'm eating well is that I'm starting to not fit into my newborn clothes anymore! I'm may look slim but I'm getting long!

I've also had some more visitors and got to meet my new BFF, Casey. Don't we look so cute together?

Casey and I posing for the camera

That's just about all for now. I will let everyone know what I weigh in at on Monday but in the meanwhile, here are some more pictures of me! As I always say, "It's all about me!"

I still don't know what to do with this playset

Hmmm...

More visitors!

Avo and Vavo made the long trip from Massachusetts to see me and I was so excited to meet them! Avo couldn't stay long but he definitely enjoyed holding me!

Staring contest with Avo.

Vavo is staying with me to help Mommy and Daddy out for a couple of weeks. She is great help and will hang out with me in the evening so Mommy and Daddy can get some rest. We're all so thankful for having her here!

The Tale of Snugglebug and Crankerpuss

I'd like to share with you the tale of Snugglebug and Crankerpuss. Snugglebug is one of the cutest and sweetest babies that you will ever meet. She is often found wrapped up tight like a taco with one or both of her arms held up next to her little face. Her talents include smiling and seducing anyone that gazes upon her. She can often be found being held tightly by whoever comes within arms reach of her. Resistance is futile for she will draw you in! You will feel ever so blessed to be in the presence of such a sweet little girl.

Snugglebug at her cutest

Thomas and Kristy succumbed to her will

Even Uncle Lars can't resist her charm

However, not all is as it seems. Come nightfall, Snugglebug transforms into her alter-ego, Crankerpuss. Since she only comes out at night, few people outside of Mommy, Daddy, and Nanny have ever witnessed her in action. Crankerpuss is well known for her ear-piercing shrieks that can last for hours at a time. Do not attempt to sleep in the presence of Crankerpuss for that only spurs her on. Just when you think she has finally calmed down, she redoubles her crying efforts and unleashes her secret weapon, projectile body fluids. Be very cautious when approaching for Crankerpuss can even make a strong man, like her Daddy, scream like a little schoolgirl when she unleashes this potent weapon.

Beware of Crankerpuss!

Fortunately, once the sun rises, Snugglebug returns and all is well until the next night!

Am I not the cutest?

Happy Valentine's Day!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Valentine's Day! I had a wonderful photo shoot showing off my new V-day outfit!

Home Sweet Home

Well it's been an adventurous couple of days! On Thursday, the doctors let Mommy and me come home earlier than originally planned. I was glad to leave the hospital and couldn't wait to see my home and meet my two crazy dogs. I like my new car seat even though I'm packed in it pretty tightly!

Life at home has had it's ups and downs. Days are spent eating, sleeping, pooping, and occasionally posing for a picture or twenty. The biggest problem is that I am so comfortable that I fall asleep for long stretches of time during the day, sleeping through scheduled meals, which makes me even more tired. The doctor says that I've lost a bit too much weight so I need to spend the next couple of days eating as much and as often as I can.

Luckily for Mommy and Daddy, since I sleep a lot during the day, nights are usually spent crying my head off for hours at a time. Another sure fire way to get me riled up is to give me a bath. Why would I like shedding my warm clothes and being wiped down with cold water?!

Fortunately, life is not all that bad at home. There are plenty of people to hold me and tell me how beautiful I am. C'mon, can you blame them?

Here I Am!

Hello world! My name is Elaina Rose and at two days old, I thought that I should make my first ever blog entry. At 1:52 AM on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, I finally made my long-awaited appearance! On Monday, Mommy and Daddy went to the hospital at 7:15 AM and were hoping to see me sometime that day. Little did they know that I had other plans. Despite Mommy's best efforts, I refused to budge because I was facing the wrong way and had gotten tangled up with my cord. 17 1/2 hours later, the doctors had to pull me out of Mommy's belly. It was hard on Mommy and me, but I'm worth it!

I've been spending the past few days hanging out with Mom and Dad in the hospital. I'm keeping busy just eating, sleeping, and constantly being held. I should be allowed to go home on Friday and I can't wait to meet my two crazy dogs!

Here are a few pictures of me but you can click on the slideshow on the left to see many more!

Coming Soon!

Well today is the day that the doctor predicted that I would come but I'm holding my ground! I won't be pressured by artificial dates and will come when I'm ready! Dad's predicting that I will come on Superbowl Sunday and I think that might be the day. I'll be seeing everyone soon!

An in-utero post.

T-minus 14 days! I'm scheduled to break out of here in 2 weeks but I'll do my best to come early! Here's a shot of my left foot giving Mom a good kick in the ribs.
